To find out more about working with us visit ?www.Brewers.co.uk/careers? The Role We are seeking a People Services Admin Assistant to join our People Services Team based in central Eastbourne. This role provides comprehensive administrative support to the wider People Department and the business overall, with specific emphasis on probation processes, personnel records, and colleague correspondence. Alongside gaining hands-on experience in a busy People function (other companies may call it a HR or Human Resources team), the successful candidate will enrol on a CIPD Level 3 Apprenticeship. You will receive paid study/project time (up to one day per week) to focus on your apprenticeship for the duration of the programme. You will work closely with a People Services Business Partner and two People Co-ordinators, supporting both the People and Recruitment teams to ensure efficient, accurate and professional service delivery. Key Responsibilities People Administration: Maintain accurate HR/People records, prepare letters and documents, manage probation and leaver processes, produce reports, and support process improvements. Referencing & Compliance: Lead referencing for new starters, log responses, escalate concerns, and ensure personnel files (paper and digital) are complete and compliant. Enquiries & Communication: Help manage the shared People inbox, respond to queries by phone and email, forward Occupational Health reports, and provide guidance on family-friendly policies. Case & Team Support: Assist People Business Partners with casework, note-taking, project tasks, and provide cover across the team when required. Recruitment & Onboarding: Onboarding new colleagues into our HR system (iTrent), prepare offer letters and contracts via DocuSign, and provide cover for the Recruitment Co-ordinator. About You We are looking for someone who: Is eager to learn and develop a career within HR/People Services and undertake the CIPD level 3 apprenticeship. Five GCSEs (including English and maths) or equivalent qualifications, or relevant work experience. Has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills. Communicates clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally. Takes initiative, prioritises effectively, and enjoys working as part of a team. Is confident with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and Outlook to an intermediate level. Has previous work experience, that can demonstrate working in a team. Previous HR/People experience is not essential; what matters most is your attitude, commitment, and willingness to learn.
