About the Role
We are looking for compassionate and committed Care Assistants / Support Workers to join our team at Care at Home (Wearside) Ltd.
In this role, you will support service users to live dignified, independent, and fulfilling lives within their own homes and the local community. Support may include personal, emotional, social, and physical care tailored to individual needs.
The role involves 12-hour night shifts, working 8:00pm – 8:00am, Monday to Sunday. You will be expected to work weekends on a rotational basis.
Key Responsibilities
Support service users with daily living tasks, promoting independence, inclusion, and diversity in line with individual care plans.
Assist with personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, and getting in and out of bed.
Promote mental and physical wellbeing through companionship, conversation, and activities including reading, hobbies, and social outings.
Carry out light household duties, including laundry, bed changes, and keeping living areas tidy.
Prepare and serve meals, provide feeding support where required, and ensure kitchen and dining areas are clean.
Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and attend staff meetings as required.
Participate in training sessions to better understand service users’ needs and abilities.
Report any significant changes in a service user’s health or circumstances to the Service Manager.
Training & Development
Full online and face-to-face training will be provided, including shadowing experienced staff.
Ongoing training opportunities will be available to support continuous professional development.
