Southend Hospital is offering an outstanding opportunity for a highly specialised Echo Physiologist to join our dynamic and progressive department. As part of a busy teaching hospital, you’ll not only deliver exceptional patient care but also have the chance to contribute to cutting-edge research and clinical audits.
You will perform both inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms with precision and care. Assisting in advanced procedures including transesophageal, stress, and contrast studies. Working in specialist clinics focusing on valvular pathology, cardio-oncology, heart failure, and paediatrics. We will support you in your professional development with evolving opportunities to expand your expertise. In particular this post would be of interest for a physiologist who has completed their BSE exam and is working towards fill BSE accreditation or a physiologist who has recently completed an ETP programme and is keen to develop their skills within a close knit team.

Carry out and report at a specialized level a range of cardiac diagnostic tests. A minimum should be to be able to scan and report to a BSE standard adult echocardiograms in both Inpatient and outpatient settings.
To assist in the training of the Clinical Physiologists and Student Physiologists within the department.
To support the lead physiologist in the organisation of the day to day work within the Heart and Chest Clinic
To adhere to the policies and procedures of the Heart and Chest Department.
Any other duties as requested by Principal Clinical Physiologist.
Contribute to the reduction of healthcare acquired infection by ensuring a high standard of infection control practice in the light of research current best evidence and legislation
The postholder will be responsible for excellent time management and will be confident in looking for support when required.
