What You’ll Need

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching English at primary or secondary level.
  • Extensive experience or strong knowledge of Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • SENCO qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience teaching English in specialist or alternative provision settings.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver tailored English lessons to small groups or individual students with SEN.
  • Collaborate closely with the wider team to support learning outcomes.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, adapting teaching strategies where needed.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding progress and support strategies.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Take part in staff meetings, training, and whole-school initiatives.
  • Approach challenges with empathy, creativity, and a strong commitment to student success.
