Are you a skilled Plant Mechanic with forklift repair experience? Our client is looking for an experienced professional to join their growing service team based near Connah’s Quay in North Wales. As part of their team, you’ll be working across the Northwest and North Wales, servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of material handling equipment, including forklifts and plant machinery.
What They are Looking For:
Our client is searching for someone with a strong background in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic systems. If you’ve got experience with forklifts, plant machinery, or similar equipment, and can diagnose, repair, and maintain to a high standard, they want to hear from you. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys variety, has a customer-first attitude, and is looking for a role that offers a good work-life balance with limited overtime.
Key Responsibilities:
• Carry out repairs, servicing and inspection across a wide variety of material handling equipment mostly comprising of forklift trucks and other similar equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance of machinery.
• Identify and replace or repair defective parts and components as necessary.
• Maintain accurate electronic records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment. Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while working on equipment.
• Keep work area clean and organised, ensuring all tools are maintained in good condition.
• Can carry out Service Inspections and Thorough Examinations to GN28/UKMHA standard.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
• Industry-recognised qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, etc.) or equivalent.
• Strong experience with mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.
• A valid driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• IT literate.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reside within a 25 mile radius of Connah’s Quay.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Forklift Truck Operator’s License (not essential).
• Prior experience with material handling equipment or similar machinery.
• Prior experience with telematics and CAN bus systems (or willing to learn these systems).

• Basic Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (dependent on experience)
