We are seeking applications from enthusiastic individuals to join this busy teaching hospital within the Pathway Coordination Team for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This is an ideal career opportunity for anyone who is looking for a challenging opportunity to develop their existing skills, and to provide a first-class service to patients. The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day operational running of a portfolio of departments within Dental, OMFS and Ophthalmology Directorate as part of the Royal London Dental Hospital. The role is very busy and will include outpatient pathway management, clinic management and booking, validation of 18-week RTT, DM01 & cancer pathways and general admin duties. The post holder will work closely with senior colleagues and clinicians to deliver exemplary care for our patients.
Please note role is fixed term for 6 months. Secondments can be supported, but candidates should speak to their line manager prior to applying.
The role is based across the Royal London and Whipps Cross Hospital. You may be asked to attend other Barts Health NHS Trust sites as the service requires.
The Royal London Dental Hospitals offers a range of specialist Level 3 dental, ophthalmology and oral and maxillofacial services to North-East London. We also are a major trauma centre running a specialist oral and maxillofacial trauma service.
· The purpose of this post is to ensure robust governance over the patient pathway by maintaining oversight and management of both clinical capacity and demand and the operational patient treatment list. Collaborating closely with senior management, clinicians and information teams, the successful candidate will, in summary, work towards the delivery of the below core aims:
· A patient-focused, professional, consistent and responsive service.
· The establishment of administrative processes that deliver the smoothest and fastest possible access to the service.
· The maximized utilization of clinical resources available.
· Evidenced assurance that patients are following the appropriate clinical pathway.
In delivering the above aims, the Patient Pathway Coordinator will:
· Have responsibility for the maintenance of outpatient waiting lists that, through collaboration with central validation teams, are clean in their data quality and describe a transparent and accurate picture of the demand into the service.
· Manage the waiting list by completing actions as delegated at the weekly waiting list meetings.
· Support the implementation of plans to meet demand and capacity.
· Help to ensure adherence to processes that clearly map important administrative processes within the department.
