Salary: £36,822 + £67.50 per sleep-in (10–12 per month)

The Role: Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
You will support the Registered Manager in running a welcoming, safe and high-quality children’s home in Abergavenny, currently supporting three young people with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs (SEMH) arising from adverse childhood experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a warm, consistent, emotionally secure environment where young people can thrive
- Lead, motivate and support a stable and skilled staff team
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding, compliance, reporting and record-keeping
- Advocate strongly for young people so their voices shape everything we do
- Promote social, emotional, physical and intellectual development
- Model best practice and contribute to a positive, child-centred culture
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring energy, creativity, resilience and a “can-do” approach.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential care setting
- QCF Level 3 Children & Young People (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Leadership & Management (preferred but not essential)
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Senior or Team Leader
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external agencies
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Driver (company car/minibus provided during shifts)
- Ability to work the 2 on / 3 off shift pattern (including sleep-ins)
