Owen Payne Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Machine Operative / Production Operative to join a leading food manufacturing company based in Wolverhampton (WV5).
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established employer who truly values their staff, offers excellent training, and rewards hard work and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
• Operating and monitoring food production machinery
• Setting up machines and carrying out basic adjustments
• Ensuring products meet quality and safety standards
• Completing production records accurately
• Carrying out basic fault finding and reporting issues
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic working environment in line with food safety standards
• Working as part of a team to meet production targets
• Work collaboratively with team members and shift engineers.
Ideal Candidate
• Proven experience as a Machine Operative or Production Operative (food manufacturing preferred)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
• Good understanding of health & safety and food hygiene standards
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual, and flexible with shift patterns
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Mechanically minded with strong attention to detail.
• Confident using computers and production systems.
• Good communication skills (written and verbal).

Pay and Hours
• Starting rate: £16.45 per hour
• Increased rate: £17.48 per hour after training completion
• Shift Pattern: 12-hour rotating shifts
2 days on → 1 day off → 2 nights on → 3 days off
Day Shift: 6am – 6pm
Night Shift: 6pm – 6am
