Jobstore are recruiting for a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Finance Manager to join our client's finance team in Accrington. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accuracy in financial records and assisting with various accounting tasks. The right candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking and self-motivated person to support the Financial Manager as part of a small team and have the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist with accounts payable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate financial records across accounting software platforms especially Sage.
Support the preparation of financial reports and statements as required.
Collaborate with team members to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
Maintain organised documentation for all financial transactions and ensure compliance with company policies.
Utilise Workday for managing financial data and reporting functions.
Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Experience

Previous experience in a finance or accounting role is essential, ideally within a distribution setting.
Applicants MUST have experience with managing overseas transactions and payments.
The post holder should be partly qualified CIMA (or equivalent) or working towards, have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role and be able to demonstrate the required competencies.
The post holder is required to be computer literate with a working knowledge of company bespoke software (ideally Sage 200, however Microsoft Office is essential)
Time management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Commercial awareness.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems and processes is key.
