Role Overview
We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and creative Interior Design Graduate / Junior Interior Designer with a strong interest in kitchen, wardrobe, and bedroom design, as well as global material sourcing. This role is ideal for someone excited by design, staging, international sourcing, and business growth, and who wants to play a key role in shaping and leading Isteni’s interior design and staging arm.
You will work closely with the founder and senior team and will gradually take ownership of design delivery, staging strategy, supplier relationships, and sourcing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Interior Design, Kitchens & Staging
• Lead and support interior design and home staging projects across residential developments, HMOs, serviced accommodation, and show homes
• Design and develop kitchen layouts, wardrobes, and bedroom interiors, balancing aesthetics, cost, and functionality
• Create mood boards, design concepts, FF&E schedules, and styling plans
• Be hands-on with on-site staging, installations, and styling
Material Sourcing & Supply Chain (UK & China)
• Lead the design-led material sourcing hub for Isteni in the UK, with a focus on products sourced from China
• Liaise with international suppliers and manufacturers (kitchens, wardrobes, cabinetry, fittings, finishes)
• Support product specification, sampling, quality control, and pricing reviews
• Work alongside the leadership team on developing scalable sourcing strategies
Vendor & Supplier Management
• Proactively negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with UK and overseas suppliers
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors
• Identify innovative, cost-effective, and high-quality design solutions
Business Development & Networking
• Actively reach out to property developers, investors, landlords, and kitchen/fit-out partners
• Attend property, construction, and business networking events
• Support the growth of Isteni’s interior design, staging, and kitchen/wardrobe offerings
• Contribute to proposals, presentations, and partnership discussions
Collaboration & Brand Growth
• Collaborate closely with construction, development, and marketing teams
• Support design content creation for marketing, social media, and portfolios
• Take ownership of the interior design, staging, and fit-out direction as the business scales
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architectural Design, or a related discipline
• 3–5 years of relevant practical experience (including internships, placements, freelance, or studio work)
• If you don’t have permanent right to work then must have, Post-Study Work Visa valid for a minimum of 12-18 months
• Work permit sponsorship may be considered after 12 months, subject to performance and business needs
• Comfortable working in a start-up environment
