We have an exciting position available for a Full Time Duty Manager whose role is to assist the Sport and Leisure Manager (SLM) and Assistant Sport & Leisure Manager (ASLM) in developing and maintaining an efficient and effective sport and leisure service by identifying and meeting customer needs profitability. Assuming responsibility for co-ordinating and deploying resources both human and material at facility level. To supervise, develop and direct designated employees ensuring that the facilities are run efficiently, safely, and securely on a day-to-day basis, with particular regard to the health and safety of staff and customers.
This role will be based at Worsley leisure Centre. The centre is one of the busiest facilities in the city, boasting over 200,000 attendances a year, a growing membership base within excess of 3,800 active members, as well as delivery of over seventy fitness classes a week.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Exceptional qualities including strong leadership, organisation and innovation skills
- Good Communication skills
- Drive and motivation to succeed and who consistently demonstrates SCL’s behaviours.
Note: As part of the interview process, all applicants will be assessed on the following:
- Jump/dive into deep water.
- Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
- Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back
- In deep Water, tread water for 30 seconds.
- Surface dive to the floor of the pool
- Climb out unaided without ladders/steps and where pool design permits.
Note: Successful candidates who do not hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) must be available to attend an NPLQ course / assessment on the following 6 consecutive dates:
Monday 16th February - Saturday 21st February 2026 - 8:30-17:30pm
The content of the course will be a mixture of skills and theoretical knowledge in both a classroom and pool side setting.

Interviews & Water Assessments to take place on: Wednesday 28th January 2026
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check currently £49.50. The payment for this will be deducted from your first two months’ salary payments at a rate of £24.75 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £49.50.
