The Role
Tameside Council has an exciting opportunity within Adult Commissioning and Homes for All for someone who is keen to make a difference in the delivery of community equipment and who has experience in the commissioning of contracts.
Housing Adaptations is an established team and has recently expanded to improve delivery of the service. We are in the process of procuring a new CES contract in collaboration with neighbouring authorities with a view to it commencing in October 20206, so this is a good time to join the team.
You will take a leading role working closely with Managers across health and social care and service user groups as well as suppliers and practitioners within Tameside MBC and Tameside ICB. You will also be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that interfaces with all partners and clinicians are robust to maintain a smooth delivery of the service.
You will have excellent communication skills and be able to provide specialist advice on a vast range of Community Equipment, keeping abreast of equipment development and best value in this field.
You will be able to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload and be able to work in a flexible and sensitive manner within a demanding service. You will be responsible for supervising the quality monitoring officer who will support you in your role.
About You
You should be a dynamic and driven person who wants to ensure the CES is delivered to the best of your ability. You should have a good standard of education and although a professional clinical qualification is not essential, we expect you to have experience and knowledge of Community Equipment Service processes and how they work within a local authority.
The role also involves managing the CES contract so you will have experience and knowledge in contractual matters. You should be able to communicate information with colleagues and with differing levels of management within the Council and within the supplier hierarchy.
