JOB SUMMARY
Staffordshire Specialist Care Centre is in search for a new Kitchen Assistant to assist in food preparation and maintaining a clean environment for the safe production of beverages and meals in support of the catering function, to ensure a high quality and comprehensive care service is delivered to residents
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Ø Assists in the preparation and serving of nutritious, well-balance, attractive meals in accordance with resident’s individual needs
Ø Handles and stores food in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations
Ø Uses cleaning materials in accordance with COSHH Regulations
Ø Cleans all work surfaces, equipment, fridges, ovens and floors and stores items correctly
Ø Ensures store rooms are well organised and clean
Ø Washes crockery and cutlery or stacks dishwasher and ensures items are clean and dry before putting them away
Ø To assist to put away any supplies delivered to the Home promptly
Ø To assist with the ordering of supplies if requested to do so
GENERAL
Ø To have the ability to work effectively within a team environment
Ø To have good communication skills
Ø To attend training as and when necessary
These duties are not exhaustive. Job holders may be asked to undertake other responsibilities, within their spheres of responsibility and competence
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Ø NVQ Level 2 in Catering
Ø Food Hygiene Regulations
Ø Operations of Kitchen Equipment
Ø COSHH / Health and Safety
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Experience: Kitchen experience: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: In person
