Senior Leadership Opportunity
We are working with a well-established and growing children’s residential care organisation with a proven track record of operating successful homes rated GOOD by Ofsted across the North West and London.
Due to continued growth within the Greater Manchester area, we are seeking an experienced Responsible Individual (RI) to provide strategic oversight, regulatory leadership, and quality assurance across children’s residential services.
The Role
As Responsible Individual, you will hold overall accountability for ensuring services are safe, effective, compliant, and child-centred. You will work closely with Registered Managers and senior leadership to drive continuous improvement and maintain Ofsted GOOD standards as a minimum.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the Responsible Individual in line with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015
Provide leadership, support, and professional challenge to Registered Managers
Ensure full regulatory compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding frameworks, and legislation
Oversee quality assurance, audits, and service improvement plans
Support new home development, registrations, and inspections
Promote a strong, positive culture focused on outcomes for children and young people
Liaise with external stakeholders including Ofsted, Local Authorities, and partners
About You
Proven experience as a Responsible Individual or senior operational leader within children’s residential care
Strong track record of supporting homes rated GOOD or OUTSTANDING
In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and quality standards
Confident leader with excellent communication and decision-making skills
Ability to work strategically while remaining operationally engaged
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
