An exciting opportunity has risen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist position. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our supportive department of Occupational Therapists and assistants within Adult Services based at Wythenshawe Hospital. The rotation also reaches out to community rotations based in South Manchester and the Stroke unit based at Trafford General Hospital. Wythenshawe Hospital is a large teaching hospital and is the ideal opportunity for anyone wishing to develop their clinical skills whilst being able to contribute to clinical effectiveness within the Trust. The department is committed to CPD and moving governments initiatives forward.
The post will rotate through a number of specialty areas including; Trauma & Orthopaedics, Complex Health & Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiology, Stroke, Surgery, AMU & Emergency Department, ICT (Intermediate Care) and Home Pathway.
You will carry out Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions, considering the persons physical, cognitive and psychological needs. You will work in a variety of settings including acute and rehab wards, out-patients and community bedded units as well as completing assessments in patients homes.
You will be encouraged to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve patient rehabilitation goals, facilitating discharges home or to rehabilitation settings.
You will be encouraged to participate in training, service development and clinical meetings. A flexible attitude, excellent interpersonal and team working skills are essential.
You must have a degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and current HCPC registration
