Summary
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our automotive service team. The ideal candidate will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient service experience. This role involves assessing vehicle needs, providing accurate information, and upselling additional services to maximise customer satisfaction and business revenue. The Service Advisor will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency within our workshop.
Duties
Greet customers warmly and professionally upon arrival, establishing a positive rapport.
Listen carefully to customer concerns and accurately record vehicle issues and service requests.
Provide detailed explanations of recommended repairs or maintenance, ensuring customer understanding.
Upsell additional services or products where appropriate, enhancing the customer’s experience and increasing sales.
Prepare detailed repair orders and estimates, ensuring all work is documented clearly.
Coordinate with technicians to schedule repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain proper records of all financial dealings.
Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Maintain organised records of customer interactions, vehicle history, and service documentation.
Keep the reception area tidy and ensure all promotional materials are up-to-date.
Requirements
Proven experience in a customer service role within the automotive industry is essential.
Strong mechanical knowledge to understand vehicle issues and explain repairs effectively.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to upsell additional services tactfully without pressuring the customer.
Good organisational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
Cash handling experience is desirable, ensuring transactions are processed accurately.
A professional attitude coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
