Crynodeb
We are very pleased to be able to advertise a new role at West London CAMHS for a CAMHS (CBT) Practitioner. This will be on a fixed term basis for one year, full time, at Band 6. This new role is anticipated to increase access to CBT for children, young people and their families/carers within Hammersmith and Fulham.
You will be expected to deliver evidence based CBT interventions within the context of the multidisciplinary adolescent team, in Tier 3 CAMHS.
We invite applications from people who have completed the CYP-IAPT CBT training, who are passionate about delivering CBT interventions to children, young people and families, and who wish to develop their skills in working in CAMHS further. The postholder will be supported to work towards their accreditation with the BABCP, if they have not completed this.
This posts sits within a multi disciplinary team, including colleagues from nursing, psychotherapy, family therapy, social work, psychology and Psychiatry. Please see the candidate pack for full details of this role, and working within West London NHS Trust.
CLINICAL
1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service
2. Assess clients for suitability for the treatment for which training is provided.
3. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.
4. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for clients.
5. Involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying therapy formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.
6. Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of client contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
