Ashiyana House is a new 2 bed therapeutic children's home located in the heart of Redditch, Worcestershire. We are currently seeking a full time Team Leader to join our vibrant and dedicated team in providing care and support to children aged 8-18 with learning disabilities, Autism and behavioural needs. This is a key leadership role within the home which will see you working alongside the Registered and Deputy Manager to ensure the smooth day to day operation of the home. As well as supporting the children within the home, you will also support and supervise the staff team. To be successful in your application, you MUST be able to demonstrate good knowledge of The Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, The Children's Act 1989 and the Care Standards Act 2000.

The role involves supporting children in various activities within the home and local community as well as ensuring all aspects of their health and well-being needs are met. As part of the role you may also be require you to carry out personal care in accordance with care plans and risk assessments.

As a therapeutic home we place strong emphasis on creating a environment for children that promotes positive change in emotional regulation and behaviour while building secure attachment and healthy relationships. Therapeutic approaches we use are Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), PACE approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy) and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI).

As a Team Leader you will be expected to work at least one sleep-in shift per week. Sleep-in's start at 20:00 and end at 08:00 the following day. This role is for 40 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities:

*Support the Registered manager and Deputy manager, to ensure the smooth operation of the home
*To shift lead, offering support and mentorship to residential support workers and sessional support workers.
*Be a point of contact for children, parents, social care teams and their educational setting.
*Carrying out monthly staff supervisions.
*To safeguard children and young people, reporting any concerns inline with company policy and procedure.
*Develop and implement care plans for children under supervision of Deputy Manager
*Develop and implement risk assessments for children under supervision of Deputy Manager
*Support a safe and stimulating environment for children in line with our therapeutic approach and values
*Engage with children in activities that promote their development and well-being, indoor and in the community
*Maintaining health and safety within the home; reviewing risk assessments, recording and reporting repairs
*Teaching essential life skills
Carry out personal care, medication administration, help with taking nutrition where needed
*Help to maintain the home, supporting children with daily house chores like cooking, cleaning, gardening and taking care or pets.
*Utilise IT systems for record-keeping and communication purposes
*Provide transportation for children as needed

Qualifications:

*A background in childcare, education, social work or a related field is essential
Strong leadership and organisation skills
*Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and colleagues is essential
*Ability to write reports and documents to a good standard
*Level 3 qualification in Residential Child Care or equivalent/willingness to work towards this
*Valid driving license to transport children is desirable
*Proficiency in IT systems for documentation and communication is essential
**All other training's necessary for this role will be provided by us

This role is expected to begin in March/April 2026.
