Please see attached full job description. 1)Maintain a clinical caseload with the ability to treat/rehabilitate patients with complex acute care needs 2)Provide advice to non-specialist staff on the management of acutely ill patients 3)Treat patients as a fully autonomous practitioner with full responsibility for, and legal accountability for, individual clinical decisions and actions 4)Plan and prioritise their own clinical workload, ensuring a prompt and efficient service using clinical judgement and departmental guidelines 5)Ensure all patients understand the physiotherapy treatment process, and have given valid and informed consent for treatment. Where patients are not able to provide consent for treatment e.g. when unconscious, or acutely ill, the post holder will work within existing legal frameworks, Trust guidelines, and professional codes of conduct 6)Complete a full and specialised examination of the patient as appropriate. The clinical examination will integrate information from a range of sources such as the patient, carers, medical/nursing records, ambulance crews, emergency department staff and the post holders own clinical examination 7)Take into account the psychological and social, as well as medical aspects of the patients' care, in order to provide an holistic, patient centred approach, referring to other specialists as necessary 8)Formulate a clinical diagnosis and appropriate patient centred goals, following a complete and thorough analysis and interpretation, of the clinical examination 9)Provide high quality appropriate clinical intervention appropriate to the identified goals. 10)Assess and evaluate the effects of the chosen physiotherapy treatment, altering the treatment technique/modality as necessary 11)Take a full part in the patient discharge planning process and co-ordination of community and social services. 12)Carry out clinical risk assessments on individual patients and follow through with appropriate management.. 13)Prioritise and alter case load during staff absence depending on service need. 14)Carry out all physiotherapy interventions within the scope of locally and nationally recognised physiotherapy approaches 15)Ensure the smooth transition of the patients' journey to aid an efficient discharge. 16)Be competent in the assessment and treatment of patients with emergency respiratory conditions.
