Location: The Reuse and Recycling Centre
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:00
Start Date: 26/01/2026
End Date: 20/04/2026 (likely to be extended)
Pay Rate: £20.55 PAYE / £27.18 Umbrella

The Role
This position provides essential vacancy cover within the Pest Control team. The successful candidate will carry out pest control inspections and treatments across the borough, ensuring safe, effective, and compliant service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct pest control inspections across residential, commercial, and public sites
Deliver appropriate treatments in line with legislation, safety standards, and council procedures
Maintain accurate records of visits, findings, treatments, and follow‑up actions
Provide advice and guidance to residents, businesses, and internal teams
Operate council vehicles safely and responsibly
Ensure all equipment, chemicals, and materials are used and stored correctly
Report any safeguarding, environmental, or health and safety concerns promptly
Candidate Requirements
Relevant pest control qualification (Essential)
Full UK driving licence (Essential)
Experience delivering pest control services in a public sector or commercial environment
Strong understanding of health & safety, COSHH, and safe working practices
Ability to work independently, manage workload, and maintain accurate documentation
Excellent communication and customer service skills
