About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, qualified, and safety-conscious Gas & Plumbing Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our team. You will carry out a wide range of domestic gas and plumbing works, including boiler diagnostics, servicing, installations, general maintenance plumbing, construction plumbing, and safety inspections.
You will be responsible for ensuring all gas appliances and systems are compliant, safe, and maintained to the highest standards. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong technical ability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Continuous work will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and installations of domestic gas appliances (boilers, cookers, fires)
Complete full boiler replacements and all other gas works
Diagnose faults and complete remedial works safely and efficiently
Perform landlord Gas Safety Checks (GSC/CP12)
Complete basic and construction plumbing tasks to a high standard
Carry out emergency call-outs when required
Ensure all work complies with current gas regulations, H&S procedures, and internal policies
Prepare accurate quotes, reports, invoices, material lists, and job notes
Record work using handheld devices or job management systems
Maintain van stock levels and order materials when required
Liaise professionally with tenants, clients, and internal teams
Identify and report hazards or safeguarding concerns
Attend toolbox talks, training, and safety briefings
Support apprentices or junior engineers when needed
Work collaboratively with other trades to complete multi-skill tasks
Essential Criteria
Minimum 5 years experience in gas and plumbing
City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation & Maintenance
Valid ACS qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1)
Proven experience in domestic gas servicing, fault finding & installs
Strong understanding of gas regulations and safety standards
Good knowledge of electrical safe isolation and basic wiring principles
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Accurate and organised with strong attention to detail
Comfortable using digital job management systems
Full UK driving licence with no points
Own tools required (van provided if needed)
Flexible and willing to travel across Central & South West London
