Summary

English Teacher – Specialist School Setting
Location: Liverpool area

Contract: Full time, long-term (with potential to become permanent)

TeacherActive are proud to be working with a well-established specialist school in the Liverpool area who are seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their dedicated team.

The school provides education for young people aged 11–16 who require additional support with their social, emotional and mental health needs. Class sizes are small, lessons are personalised, and staff work closely together to create a calm, therapeutic environment where every learner has the opportunity to succeed. Students are supported through a highly nurturing approach and benefit from a strong pastoral structure, creative curriculum, and clear routines.

We are looking for a passionate Teacher of English who can deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and inspire students to achieve their goals. The successful candidate will be joining a friendly, skilled team who share a commitment to transforming the lives of their young people.

The role will involve:

  • Teaching English across KS3 and KS4


  • Planning, organisation and delivery of tailored lessons


  • Working closely with support staff to promote positive outcomes


  • Monitoring progress and maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement


  • Building strong, professional relationships with learners


    The ideal candidate will:

    • Be a qualified English Teacher (ECTs considered with relevant experience)


    • Have experience working with students who have social, emotional or behavioural needs – this is essential


    • Be resilient, patient and able to build positive rapport


    • Have strong classroom management skills


    • Be committed to inclusive practice and student development
