This post is a permanent job-share position, working 18.75 hours per week.
The post-holder will work as a member of the Divisional Management team to lead and manage the extensive clinical governance programme across Dental Services, which includes a wide range of projects relating to risk management, health & safety, and meeting the regulatory requirements of external standards and inspection such as those undertaken by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The post-holder will lead, plan, support, facilitate and monitor progress of governance projects including incident management, audit as part of quality improvement, complaint handling, projects to improve patient safety and experience, local risk management, learning lessons and clinical effectiveness; ensuring that the best standards of practice are delivered, maintained and continuously improved within the Division’s clinical governance framework. The post holder has responsibility for the design, development and delivery of associated in-house training linked to these projects.
The post holder will lead on developing and maintaining the Dental Services risk assessment, risk register and incident reporting systems.
The post holder will manage the Dental Services patient experience and complaint systems in line with NHS and Trust legislation, policies and procedures.

Governance
Developing and managing projects related to the implementation and assurance of CQC registration and standards, legislative and best practice requirements.
Managing governance groups to ensure action and improvement with particular reference to the national Regulatory Agencies Eg CQC and General Dental Council.
Patient Safety and Risk Management
Responsible for the continuing development of risk management within Dental Services according to its needs and the Trust Risk Management Strategy including:
Developing and reviewing the Dental Services Risk Management Strategy in line with the Trust Risk Management Framework.
Leading on effective Divisional risk register management and ensure it accurately reflects the Divisional risks and is reviewed and updated on a regular basis. This must be escalated and reported on a monthly basis to Divisional Quality Safety Board and Divisional Leadership Team with concerns to be escalated to the Divisional Director of Nursing and Therapies.
