A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.


To be a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse for the Emergency Department (ED) working in partnership with the Matron, to manage and provide leadership to the nursing team in the provision of effective clinical and operational leadership across the ED.

To work collaboratively with the Lead Clinician and ED Manager, as well as the wider ED Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), to continuously improve and develop the ED.

The Senior Sister/Charge Nurse takes overall responsibility and is accountable for all delegated nursing care within the clinical environment.

They provide nursing leadership and are accountable for patient, public and staff experience.

They will lead, offer expert clinical advice and manage services to ensure the delivery of high quality, effective, and compassionate nursing care.

This will be in line with local, Trust wide and national policies, procedures, values and behaviours and is essential they can provide both clinical care to patients.
