Art Teacher - Ignite Artistic Talent in Blackburn!

Are you a creative and visionary Art Teacher (QTS) looking for an inspiring new role in the heart of Lancashire? We are seeking a dedicated specialist to join a forward-thinking Creative Arts department at a respected Secondary School in Blackburn.

If you have a passion for "Arte et Labore" (Skill and Hard Work) and the ability to inspire students to find their unique creative voice, we want to hear from you!

The Role: Shaping Blackburn's Future Creatives

A fantastic opportunity is available for a proactive QTS Art Teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced department in Blackburn. Whether you are looking for a long-term maternity cover, a fixed-term contract, or flexible supply work, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Art and Design education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).

You will be responsible for fostering a culture of curiosity and technical excellence, helping students transition from basic sketches to high-level GCSE portfolios that showcase their best work.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Teach a diverse range of techniques, including drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture, and digital art.

  • GCSE Portfolio Guidance: Support Year 10 and 11 students in developing their personal projects and preparing for their controlled assessments.

  • Cultivate Critical Thinking: Introduce students to various art movements, historical contexts, and contemporary artists to broaden their artistic horizons.

  • Manage the Studio Environment: Ensure the art room is a safe, organized, and stimulating space where creativity can thrive.

  • Assess and Report: Provide clear, constructive feedback to help students refine their skills and achieve their target grades.

What We Are Looking For
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, alongside a relevant degree in Fine Art, Design, or a related field.

  • Secondary Experience: Proven success teaching Art & Design across KS3 and KS4 levels.

  • Technical Proficiency: The ability to demonstrate high-level skills in various media to inspire student confidence.

  • Adaptability: A professional approach to joining a new school and building immediate rapport with students and the existing staff team.

  • Clearance: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).

Why Choose Blackburn with Randstad?
  • Competitive Pay: Daily rates from £150 - £220, paid weekly.

  • Local Impact: The chance to work in a town with a strong industrial and cultural heritage.

  • Total Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom of contract work while gaining experience in top-tier Lancashire schools.

  • Referral Bonus: Earn £300 through our "Refer a Friend" scheme for every successful placement!
