The Role: Shaping Blackburn's Future CreativesA fantastic opportunity is available for a proactive QTS Art Teacher to join a supportive and well-resourced department in Blackburn. Whether you are looking for a long-term maternity cover, a fixed-term contract, or flexible supply work, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality Art and Design education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
You will be responsible for fostering a culture of curiosity and technical excellence, helping students transition from basic sketches to high-level GCSE portfolios that showcase their best work.
Your Key Responsibilities-
Plan and Deliver Inspiring Lessons: Teach a diverse range of techniques, including drawing, painting, textiles, sculpture, and digital art.

GCSE Portfolio Guidance: Support Year 10 and 11 students in developing their personal projects and preparing for their controlled assessments.

Cultivate Critical Thinking: Introduce students to various art movements, historical contexts, and contemporary artists to broaden their artistic horizons.

Manage the Studio Environment: Ensure the art room is a safe, organized, and stimulating space where creativity can thrive.

Assess and Report: Provide clear, constructive feedback to help students refine their skills and achieve their target grades.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, alongside a relevant degree in Fine Art, Design, or a related field.

Secondary Experience: Proven success teaching Art & Design across KS3 and KS4 levels.

Technical Proficiency: The ability to demonstrate high-level skills in various media to inspire student confidence.

Adaptability: A professional approach to joining a new school and building immediate rapport with students and the existing staff team.

Clearance: A current Enhanced Child DBS on the update service (or a willingness to obtain one).

Competitive Pay: Daily rates from £150 - £220, paid weekly.
