Residential Children’s Support Worker – Learning Disabilities
Location: Northampton and surrounding areas
Salary: starting from £14.25 per hour
Hours: Full-time and part-time work available (including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts)

The Role:
As a Residential Children’s Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in the daily lives of the children and young people we support. You’ll provide care, encouragement, and guidance, helping them to build confidence, develop life skills, and create positive routines in a safe home environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and additional needs in all aspects of daily life
Promoting independence and social skills through structured activities and routines
Building positive, trusting relationships based on empathy and respect
Helping to manage challenging behaviours in a calm, therapeutic way
Supporting with personal care, education, and recreational activities
Maintaining accurate records and contributing to individual care plans
Working closely with colleagues, families, and professionals to provide consistent, high-quality care
About You:
You’re compassionate, patient, and resilient, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. You understand that every child’s journey is unique, and you’re committed to supporting them with empathy and consistency.
We’re looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally with learning disabilities or in a residential setting
Holds or is willing to work towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
Can communicate effectively and work well within a team
Is confident managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
Holds a full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
