We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Hydraulic Control Valves and Systems Applications Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing organisation based in the South West.
As a Hydraulic Control Valves and Systems Applications Engineer you will provide technical support to customers, preparing quotes, processing orders, and ensuring accurate information is recorded within internal systems.
The Hydraulic Control Valves and Systems Applications Engineer role involves regular customer contact, progressing enquiries, supporting less technical colleagues, and occasionally visiting customers or attending industry events.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in hydraulics and sales who enjoys combining technical knowledge with customer-focused relationship management.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Hydraulic Control Valves and Systems Applications Engineer include:
• Providing Technical Support: Assisting customers with technical product queries, orders and quotations
• Preparing Quotes and Orders: Generating accurate quotations and entering orders onto the ERP system
• Customer Relationship Management: Maintaining regular contact with customers to progress enquiries and sales opportunities
• Sales Administration: Recording accurate customer and sales information within internal systems
• Business Development Support: Identifying and generating new sales enquiries where possible
• Customer Visits and Events: Attending occasional customer visits, exhibitions, and trade shows
• Team Support and Training: Supporting and training less technical members of the team
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
• Technical Knowledge: Good technical knowledge of hydraulic control valves and hydraulic systems
• Hydraulic Diagrams: Ability to read and understand hydraulic system diagrams
• Sales Experience: Previous experience in a technical sales or customer-facing sales role
• IT Skills: Confident using Microsoft applications and experience with ERP systems
• Communication Skills: Clear and fluent English speaking and writing skills
• Qualifications: GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent)
• Customer Focus: Excellent telephone manner and professional communication style
DESIRABLE
• Industry Training: Level 1 British Fluid Power Association Hydraulics qualification
• Languages: Ability to speak additional languages
• Practical Experience: Hands-on experience with mobile hydraulics
