About the Role
As a Class 1 Shunter, you will:
- Assist with general yard duties as needed to maintain site efficiency and safety.
- Move vehicles from the yard to the workshop for their inspection.
- Load trailers so they are prepared for their brake tests.
- Ensure vehicles are clean and tidy by using the designated HGV washing facility.
- Conduct thorough daily vehicle safety inspections using the company-issued mobile device to ensure optimal vehicle performance and compliance.
- Stay in regular communication with the transport team to provide updates on your progress and ensure our customers' expectations are met.
- Attend regular training sessions to stay up to date with the latest industry standards and best practices, continuously enhancing your skills and expertise.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Forklift License (training can be provided for the right candidate).
- Passionate about providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Confident, polite, and a team player.
- Good geographical knowledge.
- Fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
