Shift pattern: Includes evenings, weekends, sleep-ins and bank holidays (on a rota)

About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will play an essential part in the daily care, safety and development of young people aged 8–17 who live in the home. You will build trusting relationships, support them through challenges, celebrate their achievements and help them develop confidence, independence and life skills.
Your role will involve working as part of a strong, therapeutic, child-centred team to create a nurturing and structured environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality day-to-day care and emotional support for young people.
• Build positive, professional relationships that encourage trust, stability and growth.
• Support young people with routines, personal development, education, activities and independent living skills.
• Follow individual care plans, behaviour support plans and risk assessments.
• Use trauma-informed and child-centred approaches to support behaviour and de-escalate challenging situations.
• Lead by example in promoting safeguarding, welfare, safety and dignity at all times.
• Encourage and participate in activities, outings, hobbies, and opportunities that promote young people’s wellbeing.
• Contribute to accurate daily recordings, reports and communication with the wider staff team.
• Maintain the home environment to a high standard of safety, cleanliness and organisation.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals and external agencies when required.

Essential Requirements
• Experience working with children or young people (residential, education, youth work or similar).
• Understanding of safeguarding and supporting young people with emotional or behavioural needs.
• Willingness to work towards QCF Level 3 in Residential Childcare (if not already held).
• Ability to work shifts including sleep-ins.
• Full driving licence preferred.
