For Easter 2026, the Governors of Moorthorpe Primary School with Inclusion Resource are seeking to appoint a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO).

At Moorthorpe, we offer one-form entry mainstream provision, a SEMH resource provision (enhanced mainstream) and a SEN Unit (specialist) on site.
As a teacher and SENDCO, you will join the team in our warm and welcoming school—often described by visitors as having a true ‘family’ atmosphere—you will play a key role in managing and monitoring high quality SEND provision, resources, and teaching and learning across the setting. As SENDCO, you will work closely with staff to ensure that every pupil receives the personalised support they need to thrive, while building strong, positive relationships with families to guide them through each stage of their child’s journey. About the Role:
- As our SENDCO, you will be an integral part of our leadership team, responsible for:
- Leading and coordinating all aspects of SEND provision across the mainstream school, working alongside our Head of Resource who facilitates this in the Inclusion Resource and SEND Unit.
- Guiding and training teachers to deliver high-quality, differentiated learning for all pupils.
- Working closely with parents, external professionals, and other staff to create tailored support plans.
- Monitoring pupil progress, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with SEND policies.
- Fostering a truly inclusive and supportive environment where every child feels valued and achieves their potential.
- Have a part-time teaching commitment.
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
- An experienced, qualified teacher (QTS essential).
- Experience as SENDCO with a SENCO qualification (or willingness to complete).
- Passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs.
- A strong leader, communicator, and problem-solver.
- Organised, with excellent record-keeping skills.
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare.
