We are recruiting experienced Urgent Care Practitioners (UCPs) or Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) to join our bank team to work at our Urgent Care services including Malton UTC, Selby UTC and York Minor Injuries.

This is a true Band 7 autonomous clinical role, ideal for clinicians who are confident in assessment, diagnosis and management of minor illness (Selby and Malton only) and minor injury, and who enjoy making timely, high-quality clinical decisions that improve patient experience.

Our sites -

Selby Urgent Treatment Centre, located at Selby War Memorial Hospital, is open 7 days a week (8am–8pm) and provides timely assessment and treatment for patients with minor illness and minor injury, in accordance with our Directory of Services

Malton Urgent Treatment Centre, located at Malton Hospital, is open 7 days a week (8am–8pm) and provides timely assessment and treatment for patients with minor illness and minor injury, in accordance with our Directory of Services.

The Band 7 candidate must have a recognised qualification, training and experience as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner or similar if AHP.

Trainee ENPs must already be undertaking or completing a recognised Minor Injuries and Illness Course (that includes X Ray interpretation), and be prepared to undertake further training in post.



The post holder is required to take a complete history and perform clinical examination to diagnose and implement treatment for patients presenting with varied conditions.

You are also required to be able to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and discharge patients or refer to a specialist as necessary. As an autonomous practitioner you will work within their scope of practice and according to broad local policies and procedures.

You must be proactive in promoting health and well-being to patients and give health advice and education, and act as a mentor and to other staff members and nursing students.

You will be expected to further your own education with the support of the trust, keep up to date with skills and competencies, monitor and update local policies and procedures and to develop and participate in clinical research.
