This is a new role which has been developed to respond to the increasing and unprecedented levels of demand for homelessness and social housing services over the last few years.
With an in-depth understanding of customer needs, supply and demand issues and barriers to accessing and sustaining housing, the postholder work will work with the Head of Service (Access and Wellbeing) Housing Access Manager and Housing Commissioners, partners and stakeholders to develop new opportunities to expand access to affordable, good quality housing supply and ensure that the benefits of this scarce resource are maximised and efficiently deployed.
The post provides the day-to-day managerial and performance oversight of the Private Rented Sector Access Team as they grow and evolve in scope, the Council’s own Temporary Accommodation provision and the Temporary Accommodation Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) along with other contractual frameworks that are developed to support the service.
A key element of the role will be to develop a sophisticated suite of information from a range of sources, interpreting and analysing data in order to ensure the most effective acquisition and use of the stock available, both in terms of temporary accommodation and opportunities for permanent private sector options. They will drive a quality assurance approach, identify trends, system blockages and opportunities to enable the introduction of new ways of working/initiatives that enhance the ability of the service to respond to customer need.
They will be an advocate for the Housing Access Service, producing reports, briefings and presentations for a range of audiences, to raise awareness of housing access issues and to develop and influence decision making and activity.
Please note: this post is not available for sponsorship arrangements.
