Job Title: Factory Quality Inspectors (three roles)
Location: Leyland, Lancashire
Reports to: Quality Supervisor
Term: 12-week temporary to permanent role
Pay: Weekly
Hours:
• 1 x 6am - 2pm (set shift) available
• 2 x 2pm - 10pm (set shifts) available
Salaries:
• Earlies: £24,297 p/a (£467.25 per week subject to tax and NI - £12.75 p/h)
• Lates: £25,369.50 p/a (£487.88 per week subject to tax and NI - £13.01 p/h)
Purpose of the role:
To ensure the company’s Quality Management System, GMP, policies, procedures are implemented as daily working practice throughout the manufacturing process from goods into dispatch of finished goods to produce right first time, safe and legal products conforming to agreed specifications
The person:
The Factory QC Inspector must be able to take a logical and process orientated approach to implementing and monitoring the Quality Management System, policies and procedures with an understanding of acceptable quality limits and risk assessments to make decisions and advise factory operatives during the course of production. The factory QC Inspector must be able to prioritise their workload efficiently and work with other departments including production, supply chain and commercial daily.
Duties / areas of responsibility:
• Ensure daily implementation of the Quality Management System, policies and procedures.
• Ensure all product manufactured are safe, legal and to agreed specification.
• Implement and monitor GMP throughout the factory.
• Ensure document control is adhered to.
• Completion of line clearance and in-process adjustments.
• Monitor and ensure in process checks during production are carried out, supporting production to aid efficient production
• Conduct equipment calibration, in-process audits, GMP & Glass & Plastic Audits.
• Support with continuous improvement of the Quality Management System.
• Support the production team with Operative training.
• Provide support during customers visits and accreditation audits.
• Submit and control laboratory samples.
• Product/sku set up.
• Provide support across all areas of the Quality function as and when required.
• Daily Review and organisation of process records.
• Operate as Line Leader in instances of holiday to ensure timely production.
Key skills:
• Attention to detail regarding accuracy and precision of all documentation and products.
• Must be articulate and confident in dealing with external parties as and when required.
• Able to review, analyse, advise, and guide the production team in challenging time frames.
• Able to work openly and gain trust throughout the organisation.
• Ability to investigate root cause and suggest corrective/preventative actions.
• Be enthusiastic and passionate about working as part of a team.
• Ability to understand and demonstrate great interpersonal, verbal, written and visual communication skills.
• Understand and demonstrate the importance of commercial awareness.
• Be enthusiastic when learning new skills and can widen other team members experience and skill set.
Special requirements:
• Previous experience in a similar quality role.
• A level 2 HACCP and Internal Audit qualification would be desirable.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
