Job Title: Senior Employee Relations Advisor

Location: Runcorn, UK

Salary: Up to £45,000 dependant on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday 09.00 – 17.15


We’re looking for an experienced Senior Employee Relations Advisor to deliver a high-quality, risk-aware, and solutions-focused ER service across our diverse organisation of 5,500+ colleagues. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is passionate about driving fair, consistent, and legally compliant outcomes.

What you’ll do

  • Act as a senior point of contact for complex ER matters, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Manage high-volume ER casework including disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence management.
  • Handle ACAS conciliation, mediation, and prepare case bundles for Employment Tribunals.
  • Coach and mentor managers and junior ER colleagues to build capability and confidence.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and senior leaders to influence ER strategy and embed best practice.
  • Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Travel across our UK sites as needed to support complex cases and deliver training.

What we’re looking for

  • Extensive experience as a Senior ER Advisor or Specialist in a high-volume environment (Retail or Distribution preferred).
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience with ACAS conciliation, mediation, and Employment Tribunal preparation.
  • Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and ability to handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (iTrent experience is a plus).
