We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team, who will support the delivery of a high-quality financial service across LSTM and its subsidiaries.This role focuses on day-to-day financial transactions, particularly treasury activities and management of the corporate purchasing card programme. You will process banking transactions, reconciliations, and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures.Key responsibilities include:Use the LSTM Finance system to manage approximately 300 corporate cards, including new requests, cancellations, and changes in spending limitsManage high volumes of transactionsMonitor and review transactions to ensure purchases are made in line with financial regulationsComplete day-to-day banking entries and process UK and international bank transfer requestsInvestigate and resolve anomalies internally and with the bankReconcile all relevant accounts and complete month-end tasksProvide details of cash transactions to assist in cashflow forecastingMake routine treasury accounting entries and complete relevant reconciliationsWork with the Accounting Team Supervisor to streamline processes where possibleAbout you:Experience of working in a finance team managing high volumes of transactionsExperience in general treasury dutiesUp to date knowledge of relevant financial and accounting proceduresWorking with specialised financial information systems for managing online transactions, reporting, and complex reconciliationsExperience of compliance with legislation, regulations, external procedures, and internal procedures in the functions of finance and purchaseProven experience of working in a regulated environment and across multiple companies with differing financial processesAn AAT (or equivalent) qualification and experience of handling multiple currencies would be advantageous, but this is not essential.(For a full list of essential and desirable criteria, please refer to the job description and person specification)Additional benefits of joining LSTM• 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus Christmas closure days• Generous occupational pension schemes• Government-backed “cycle to work” scheme• Affiliated, discounted staff membership to the University of Liverpool Sports Centre• Plus, a host of additional family-friendly policiesApplication ProcessTo apply for the position, please upload your CV and Covering Letter.Due to the volume of applications we receive, we sometimes close our vacancies early.
