The person you will be supporting is non-verbal and communicates using their own individual signs alongside iPad-based communication technology. Experience with non-verbal communication, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), or a strong interest in learning and adapting communication styles is very important for this role, as building trust and understanding is key.

Alongside medical and personal care, you’ll be supporting someone who has a real love of steam trains. Sharing in conversations, activities, or outings related to this interest will be a valued and enjoyable part of the role, helping to enrich their daily life and independence.

The position offers around 6 hours per week at £13 per hour, with flexible working hours and the possibility of increasing hours over time. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, observant, and genuinely motivated to make a positive difference in another person’s life.

- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.
