Neway International are seeking a Senior Social Worker (SSW) with 2+ years’ experience to join our client based with Birmingham Children’s Trust.
Location: One Avenue, Birmingham
Hours: 36.5 per week (Monday–Friday, 08:45–17:15)
Start Date: 22/12/2025 End Date: 02/03/2026
Pay Rates: £22.51 PAYE / £30.57

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) service. You will provide high-quality social work practice, supporting vulnerable young people and ensuring their needs are met with care, empathy, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver effective social work practice within the UASC service.
Undertake assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with statutory requirements.
Provide safeguarding oversight and escalate concerns appropriately.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to support young people’s wellbeing.
Contribute to service development and uphold Birmingham Children’s Trust values.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
Registration with Social Work England.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and statutory responsibilities.
Experience supporting children and young people, ideally within UASC or similar services.
Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
Enhanced DBS check required.
