Please see below for detailed job description of the role.
Are you a compassionate and caring individual looking to develop your career as a Qualified Early Years Practitioner in a fun, supportive, and nurturing environment?
We are currently looking for part-time and full-time enthusiastic Level 3 Qualified Early Years Nursery Practitioners to register their interest to join our friendly team at our Taplins Day Nursery (Southampton General Hospital) or Trust Taplins Nursery (Western Community Hospital).
Taplins operates two modern, purpose-built day nurseries dedicated to supporting our local NHS staff. As part of the UHS family, you’ll benefit from a generous holiday allowance, access to a staff discount scheme, and a range of additional NHS benefits.
Our nurseries are open Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 6:30pm, and are closed on bank holidays. Full-time roles typically offer the flexibility of working hours across a 4-day week.
Register your interest today if you’re passionate about early years care and have the experience that we are looking for. A member of our team will be in touch to discuss your application further if you meet the essential criteria outlined in the attached person specification.
University Hospital Southampton is one of England's largest acute teaching Trusts, offering a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your career aspirations.
Located on the south coast with an international airport and direct rail links to London, Southampton offers an ideal setting to live and work, with the New Forest, South Downs and Jurassic Coast.
We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalizing your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
At UHS we’re committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.
At UHS, we proudly champion individuality, recognizing that outstanding care is only possible with a diverse, inclusive team. We’re committed to creating an anti-racist, anti-discriminatory environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and empowered to make a meaningful impact in our communities. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.
We offer childcare from 3 months to 5 years in our bright and airy nurseries. The nurseries have dedicated craft and messy play area and access to large and secure outside spaces- so lots of opportunities for adventure for our children!
We also have cosy sleeping areas for when they need to rest. You will be looking after a group of children and ensuring that all their needs are met during the day and that they have fun and engaging activities planned.
General Duties
