Applications are invited for the fixed term post of Wellbeing Adviser working within the Directorate of Student Life at Royal Holloway University of London.
This role provides an exciting opportunity to support our students to have a positive and fulfilling student experience and play an important role in the delivery of Royal Holloway’s wellbeing offering. The Directorate of Student Life includes a broad range of student facing teams who are core to the student journey: Active Lifestyle & Sport, Chaplaincy, Counselling & Mental Health, Disability & Neurodiversity, Hall Life, International & Money Advice, Student Casework, Student Engagement & Insights and Wellbeing Support
Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing Support they will contribute to the work of the Directorate and support the strategy and aims of the University and Student Journey Division. Role holders will be expected to demonstrate our University values - being Daring, Innovative, Open and Respectful – in their work and be a champion of equality, diversity and inclusion.
Wellbeing Advisers act as the main triage and referral point for students with wellbeing concerns and challenges and are a critical student-facing team. The team provide support for students for a broad variety of issues and will required to provide specialist advice, guidance and information to current students, and through their work contribute to student recruitment, retention and success.
We are also seeking a candidate who has a strong understanding of the wellbeing concerns faced by students, and in providing prompt and effective interventions and guidance to support students to achieve academic and personal success. They should be strongly student focussed, with a keenness to engage proactively and supportively with students on campus, and to consistently work with compassion, kindness and advocacy.
With roles in Student Life there is a need for campus-based working to enable in-person student appointments, daily drop-in services and engagement with students. There will be the opportunity for occasional hybrid working for this part time role.
