About the role
Working with our NHS colleagues and Solent Mind to provide Peer Support working within local communities to enhance mental health care at both Primary and Secondary level.
You will work with people in one to one and group settings, including managing your own caseload of service users, to support their recovery and help them access the support they need.
You will support people to develop and use a range of skills and techniques to help their wellbeing through short-term goal focused support, and enable service users to take control of their own recovery.

About you
You must have your own mental health lived experience to be able to support service users in their recovery journey.
You need knowledge of mental health services, and wider related groups and organisations.
You will have time management, and team working skills as well as intermediate computer skills.

About us
Solent Mind is the largest mental health charity in Hampshire. It is part of a network of 125 local Minds in England and Wales, which are independent charities affiliated to Mind, the national mental health charity. Solent Mind has its own Board of Trustees and raises its own funds to deliver its services, support and training tailored to the needs of people living in Hampshire, Southampton, Portsmouth, and the Isle of Wight. Solent Mind has a Gold award for Workplace Wellbeing Index 2022/2023 and has signed up to be a Mindful Employer.

We welcome applications from all the communities in which we work. We also positively encourage applications from people with lived experience of mental health to apply for roles within Solent Mind. Appointments are made on merit.
Please note that we may close vacancies before the advertised closing date if we receive a sufficient number of applications. Therefore, we recommend submitting your application as early as possible.
