Summary
The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of monthly management accounts and supporting the development and tracking of budgets at the UK and country office levels. As the Assistant Finance Business Partner you will also act as the main point of contact for donor and grant funded in UK and country offices with a strong emphasis on business partnering, including financial business planning, reviewing project performance to ensure donor compliance and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
Production of monthly management accounts with commentaries for the UK business unit to the required timetable, including the preparation of adjustment journals as appropriate and providing forecasts of income and expenditure.
Review monthly management accounts produced by the Finance teams in country offices.
Complete monthly cycle by posting UK journals, intercompany accounts and the transaction listings from overseas teams that do not maintain their own accounts on SUN. Manage monthly foreign exchange and share with country offices to run management accounts in local currency.
Assist in the reconciliation of bank and other balance sheet accounts in all the Sense International UK and its business units.
Review cash transfer requests from overseas teams, making comments to the Programme Managers, once approved and effected, post journals to reflect the transfers.
Work alongside the Fundraising and Programmes team based in the UK and globally and assist on funding applications and checking budgets before donor submission.
Work with Programmes team in producing donor reporting and donor budgets are managed, income and expenditure, debtors/creditors, activity risk and reporting and financial compliance processes relating to the projects are delivered effectively.
About You
Relevant financial qualification such as AAT and working towards a professional qualification CCAB/CIMA is desirable.
Proven experience in a Finance environment.
Experience of assisting with developing and monitoring an annual budget within a multi-cost centre environment.
Experience of using computerised finance systems such as Infor SunSystems.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to develop relationships with key stakeholders, so that objectives are met consistently.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues across the finance department.
Good knowledge of management accounting, with an understanding of charity accounting requirements.
