Quality Inspector

Job Location: Poole, Dorset

Job Type: Permanent position

Salary: Up to £17.94 per hour / £673.07 per week / £35,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7.30am – 4pm & Friday 7.30am – 1pm

A specialist Engineering company based in Poole, is currently looking to recruit for a Quality Inspector.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring customers receive products of the highest standard. You’ll be responsible for inspecting incoming products, work in progress, and finished builds against engineering drawings, ensuring all dimensional, material, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out detailed inspections of goods inwards, work in progress, and finished builds
• Perform routine visual and dimensional inspections, checking for surface defects and cleanliness
• Use precision measuring equipment (handheld tools, surface plate equipment, CMM, comparator, fixed gauging, thread gauges)
• Identify, report, and resolve non-conformance issues in products and processes
• Compile Certificates of Conformity (CofC), FAIRs, and customer quality assurance documentation

Essential Skills:

• Experience in a quality inspection role
• Understanding of quality assurance and ISO9001 standards
• Knowledge of surface measurement
• Strong practical engineering knowledge and experience
• Working knowledge of CMM measuring techniques is advantageous
