1.92h/wk£1508 per annumThe Elmfield Governing body would like to appoint a Clerk to work with and fully support the Governors.The post is a part-time position, covering four Full Governing Body meetings and eight committee meetings per academic year.
The Clerk is expected to provide 15 hours of support for each Full Governing Body meeting and five hours of support for each committee meeting.Full Governing Body meetings - Tuesday 6pm-8pm (x4)Curriculum Committee meetings - Monday 4pm-6pm (x4)Finance Committee meetings - Tuesday 6pm-7pm (x4)Meetings take place during term time only.The Clerk to Governors is central to the smooth running of the Governing Body: preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, offering administrative support, keeping records and giving procedural and legislative advice to the Governing Body. Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills, as well as an ability to take accurate minutes at meetings. To help the successful applicant fulfil their role we expect them to attend all relevant training events and the Clerk’s Network meetings.To enable a smooth transition into the role a handover with the current Clerk will be arranged as soon as possible.We are currently in a period of transition as the secondary school is moving sites in 2026. During this time additional meetings may need to take place occasionally, in which case overtime will be paid.Interview date: ASAP
