This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Consultant Dermatologist to join the established and innovative Dermatology team at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work with the existing consultants to expand service provision for secondary care dermatology referrals. The post holder will maintain an active clinical role as a member of the dermatology consultant body delivering excellent dermatology care for the region.

In 2015, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital merged with West Middlesex University Hospital to form one Trust. The dermatology department is now split across two sites with our consultants working across both hospitals.

As a leading London teaching hospital, the department sees a wide spectrum of acute and chronic dermatological conditions and runs an ‘acute dermatology service’. Several specialist clinics are held on-site, e.g. skin cancer, paediatric, vulval, penile, HIV, and biologic therapy. The hospital is also leading in Teledermatology and the use of AI software for suspected skin cancer across North West London.

Face to Face Interviews will take place on 5th February 2026.

All positions will involve inpatient and outpatient care as well as supervision of patients in our Day Care unit and teaching and training of dermatology trainees NTNs and CESR trainees.

The successful candidates will possess a recognised Medical degree, MRCP or FRCP and be on the specialist register of the GMC.It is a condition of appointment that staff are satisfactorily health cleared prior to commencing work.

Our Trust is one of England's top-performing and safest trusts. We operate two main acute hospital sites—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital—along with award-winning clinics across North West London.

Our nearly 7,500 staff care for a diverse population of 1.5m, providing full clinical services including maternity, A&E and children’s services, plus specialist HIV and sexual health care. The CQC rates us Good in safety, effectiveness, care and responsiveness, and Outstanding in leadership and resource use.

We continually invest in our facilities, including a £30m expansion of critical care at Chelsea and an £80m Ambulatory Diagnostic Centre at West Mid.

We are delivering sustainable healthcare through our Green Plan. In line with Greener NHS ambitions, we aim for net zero carbon emissions by 2045. Achieving this requires collective effort. We encourage staff to reduce their impact on carbon, waste and pollution wherever possible. Every action counts to create a healthier, more sustainable future.

We are committed to equal opportunities and believe diversity drives innovation and excellence. We welcome applications from the global majority, veterans and underrepresented communities, valuing the perspectives they bring.

If you haven’t heard from us within 3 weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probation. Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.

We are looking to recruit 4 x substantive dermatology consultants to join our team working cross-site. These 4 posts will each be at 8.75PAs.

The first post holder should have a specialist interest in Paediatric dermatology. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to further develop the West Middlesex Paediatric service and work within the Chelsea and Westminster Paediatric team as part of the West London Children’s Hospital.

The second post holder should have advanced dermatology surgery skills and an interest in skin cancer. There is already a well-established MOHs service at Chelsea and Westminster and we work closely with our plastic surgery colleagues cross-site. We now have a need to further expand the dermatology surgery that we provide within the department cross-site.

The third post holder should have an interest in general medical dermatology and patch testing. We are looking to recruit a second patch test consultant to join our team working cross-site with the skills to continue the newly established patch test service in West Middlesex Hospital which will complement the service already run at Chelsea and Westminster.

The fourth post holder should have an interest in general medical dermatology. An interest in psychodermatology would be an advantage as we would like the post-holder to develop a regular psychoderm clinic. The post will be cross-site.
