Summary

About Stay
Stay is a leading charitable housing provider with over 30 years of experience delivering person-centred support. Each year, we help more than 1,000 people overcome homelessness and rebuild their lives. Our mission is simple: to prevent homelessness, respond to urgent needs, and empower individuals to thrive.
We work with people in crisis, often facing complex challenges affecting their physical, mental, social, or financial wellbeing. Our team is professional, empathetic, and resilient, supported by a collaborative environment and experienced managers.

The Role
As a Housing Officer, you’ll play a key role in our Housing Team, providing tenancy-related support across Stay’s accommodation portfolio. You’ll assess, allocate, and support tenants throughout their journey, ensuring successful move-on and contributing to team and organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities
• Manage a caseload of tenants, including vulnerable individuals, ensuring tenancies are set up and sustained.
• Provide advice on tenancy rights, responsibilities, and housing options.
• Address issues such as rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding concerns.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to resolve tenancy risks and signpost support services.
• Maximise income collection and assist with welfare benefit applications.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Promote tenant involvement in community activities and Stay’s engagement initiatives.
• Uphold safeguarding standards and report concerns promptly.

What We’re Looking For
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations.
• Knowledge of housing management and welfare benefits (or willingness to learn).
• Commitment to Stay’s values: Passion, Integrity, Collaboration, and Effectiveness.

Why Join Us?
• Make a real difference in people’s lives every day.
• Work in a supportive, values-driven team.
• Access to training and development opportunities.
