Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Surgical Acute Dependency Unit (SADU) at Frimley Park Hospital.
Our unit provides Level 1 care for up to 8 patients, supporting individuals with a range of complex surgical needs. We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses as well as experienced surgical nurses who are motivated to develop their skills in an acute care environment. While recent experience in a similar setting would be advantageous, this is not essential, as comprehensive training, mentorship, and ongoing support will be provided.
The Surgical ADU cares for patients across a variety of surgical specialties, including Colorectal and Upper GI surgery, Urology, and other specialist services. This diverse caseload offers an excellent opportunity for broad clinical exposure, professional development, and career progression.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to upholding our Trust’s vision and values, including being committed to excellence, working together and facing the future. You will also be expected to show flexibility, including participation in internal rotation and shift patterns, to support safe and effective patient care.
Key elements of your role will include, assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating patient care, supporting surgical teams, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to education and quality improvement. You will need to be able to balance hands-on clinical duties with communication, leadership, and professional development.
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is committed to being an inclusive and disability confident employer and has been awarded the Gold for the Armed Forces Employment Recognition Scheme. We provide first class development opportunities for all staff and have a wide range of professional, management and leadership, and clinical skills training available.
Here at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, we know how important it is to have a healthy work life balance; this benefits not only individuals but the patients we care for too.
We encourage applications from people who wish to work on a flexible basis, recognising that flexibility may mean a range of different working patterns and hours, we do our utmost to work with our staff to meet their needs and the needs of our service and its users.
