Job Title: Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner - Band 6 Department: Main Theatre - Gynaecology and Urology Team Contract: Full time, permanent Hours: 37.5 hours per week Shifts: Early and late shifts in line with service requirements On call: Participation in the on-call rota is required About Us The London Clinic is the UK's largest independent charitable hospital, located in the heart of Marylebone. Theatre teams work closely with experienced Consultants and multidisciplinary colleagues, maintaining high standards of safety, preparation and professional practice. The Role We are recruiting a Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our Gynaecology and Urology Theatre Team. This full time role involves delivering safe, effective perioperative care while providing clinical leadership within the operating theatre. Robotic experience is desirable but not essential. Surgical First Assistant experience is desirable. Applicants must have proven scrub experience within gynaecology and urology. Key Responsibilities: Scrub and assist across a wide range of surgical specialities, ensuring consistently high standards of care. Undertake the Surgical First Assistant role where qualified Prepare, check and manage surgical instruments, implants and consumables Coordinate equipment and resources to support safe and efficient theatre lists Complete mandatory surgical safety and patient checks Support safe patient transfer, positioning and dignity throughout care Act in the circulating role as required Support training, supervision and development of junior staff Work collaboratively with Consultants and theatre colleagues Contribute to audit, service improvement and clinical governance Participate in the on call rota Skills and Experience: Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration Minimum 3 years post registration experience within operating theatres Strong scrub experience within a relevant surgical specialty Ability to work autonomously and provide clinical leadership Excellent communication and organisational skills Surgical First Assistant qualification is desirable Experience within gynaecology and or urology Understanding of robotic surgery Experience working at Band 6 level Benefits We offer a range of benefits including flexible working and great career opportunities.
