Are you kind, patient, and full of energy? We’re looking for a friendly and reliable support worker to spend time with a bright, active 14-year-old boy who loves animals and exploring new places. He’s especially fascinated by farms, sea life, and buses – so if you enjoy being outdoors and discovering new things, you’ll get along brilliantly!
You’ll be supporting him for around 8 hours a month (minimum), mainly during evenings or weekends, with more hours available during school holidays. Days and times can be discussed to suit both of you.
Your role will include offering gentle prompts for personal hygiene, encouraging independence, and providing reassurance when needed. He experiences anxiety, and has learning disabilities, autism, and ADHD, so it’s important to be active, adaptable, and alert to help him feel secure and supported as he enjoys his activities.
He loves swimming on Wednesdays and horse riding on Fridays, and you may support him during these sessions. The family has a friendly dog, so being comfortable around pets is essential.
A driver with access to their own car is preferred, as some activities may involve local travel.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a young person’s life while sharing in his interests and helping him grow in confidence and independence.
If you’re caring, energetic, and ready to make a positive impact, we’d love to hear from you!

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives.
