Are you a caring and reliable person who enjoys helping others live life to the fullest? We’re looking for a friendly Personal Support Assistant to provide around 12 half-hour sessions a week to support an easy-going individual who’s ready to get back into a healthy and active routine. This is a FTC of 1 year.

Your role will include offering gentle encouragement and practical help with swimming two or three times a week, as well as providing support to re-establish a gym routine. You’ll also assist with everyday tasks such as doing the shopping, collecting medication from the pharmacy, and offering light admin and community access support — helping to make day-to-day life smooth and enjoyable.

Typical support days are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, though some flexibility is available to suit both your schedule and theirs. You’ll be welcomed into a calm and friendly home — shared with a gentle, affectionate cat — so being comfortable with feline company is a must!

If you’re patient, proactive, and have a warm personality with a passion for helping others maintain independence and wellbeing, we’d love to hear from you.

Duties include:
- Medication prompting/administering
- Personal grooming
- Clinical tasks
- Administration
- Housekeeping
- Shopping
- Cooking
- Transportation
- Companionship
- Dressing / undressing
- Bathroom assistance

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Must be comfortable with pets
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements
Non-smoker due to medical reasons, Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives. The role may be offered on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the suitability and agreement with the employer. If the role is employed, you will be entitled to holiday pay and issued an employment contract.

Please note: If you do not hear back within three weeks of applying, unfortunately your application has not been successful on this occasion.
